Make-Up for Desi Fashion with Modern Twist

This is our first feature in this column and we are excited to be collaborating with our model, Gayatri.

Today’s topic shall cover cosmetic. The new age cosmetic has been life-changing. It changed how we present ourselves. It has become our personal canvas—we become our own artist, to show what we want to portray. This time, we shall skip the dramatic makeup we do for Halloween or such (we will come to that but not in this feature, so wait up peeps!).

Cosmetics allow us to conceal our insecurities. Remember those acne breakouts and scarrings which deterred us from going out? Like this skin have never been worst. “How do people even look at me in my face and communicate with me?” Oh, the insecurities can go on and on. It sucks, even more, when you put on makeup in hopes for a remedy but it’s just not the right product for you. I look like I am trying so hard to cover blemishes but it’s nowhere successful. And there we go, that’s another problem to face. And the process of finding a product that suits our skin type/problems/tone can be tiresome and time-consuming. So, we look upon our references for advice. For one, we have our model, Gayatri, for that!

Having seen Gayatri's work sure have some readers intrigued about her! Thus, a short interview from us to get to know the model:

Gayatri became a makeup enthusiast ever since her accidental adventure on YouTube. From that very platform, she self-taught herself on cosmetics and makeup. She credits her newfound hobby to YouTube’s beauty guru tutorials. Apart from that, Gayatri’s interest in fashion was ignited from Pinterest. She was fascinated by how a piece of cloth can be styled in various ways. She is definitely proud to say that she loves her roots—so that’s an absolute yes from her to desi fusion fashion! Gayatri is also growing interests in photography which is contributed by fellow users’ posts on Instagram and currently exploring Creative Photography.
