There are many types of photography and videography styles, methods and patterns followed by different individuals. Photographs can be defined as an art piece, a historical evidence, a time capsule, a metaphoric reference, a symbolic reference, a story, nostalgic purpose and capturing the moment of merry-making.

People may have differing preference as to what they decide to photograph-- it can be landscapes, nature, humans, animals, objects, abstracts and even more. These contain their own meanings and perceptions. Pictures do deliver a message to their audience and bring pleasure to their curious eyes.

➡This photo was taken under the bridge of the jetty before the island. Her shadow follows her footprint, embracing the sun by the sea.

I have been in love with landscapes, nature, and abstract photography for twelve years but have never tried taking portraits. I have finally decided to try portrait photography after years of hesitation and lack of confidence in trying it. This very first shoot was a complete new experience for me and the model.
Our D-day begun in Singapore’s neighbouring Coney Island with the beautiful warm sunrise. It could not get any hotter! Hotter than ever! Compared to my previous visits for nice long trail in the tiny island that is filled with trees unlike the main land. Here, we saw some rare flora which are facing extinction along with seasonal birds and animals like monkeys, wild dogs and a hint of snakes.
Speaking of which, in one of my earliest trip to the island along the shore of Beach C & Beach D, I unexpectedly spotted a dozen of monkeys. A bunch of it spotted my cousin drinking juice and begun to chase her HAHA!

Thank god at that moment I had my selfie stick in my hand. It came so naturally for me to start chasing off the monkeys in our defense.
Horror did not end there. The very next trip when I placed my backpack down for a bit, there came an uninvited guest invading my backpack.

In my next stop the guest decided to reveal itself. A long, about two inches thin, a green leafy colored snake came out of my backpack that I CARRIED ALONG! Here is the picture of 'that snake':
It definitely was a couple of epic experiences and the nostalgia that comes after.
Although I am still exploring my nature & portrait photography, I believe that when taking nature portraits, everything becomes one and part of the nature. Hence, I have tried to bring in a hint of my belief to this photoshoot. Though it was a trail shoot, we got to experience and understand the angles, positions and our photography styles and preferences. And through this article, I would like to show my appreciation to the models of colours and support.
