Last May, BANAHUB has held it's second BANAFEST this year 2021 this time to celebrate writers and invited writers from various background and they were interviewed.

During the interviews they shared shared about their writing, their journey as writers, their struggles, progress and success with us.

This fest allows writers to interact and meet other writers from different countries virtually and network with one another, they were from different age groups, geographically diverse and ethnically as well.

The fest does not end there, the writers were invited to play a game relay on creating a short story on a topic and within the given time they have to take turns to create the story. They were really sportive and participated during the meet and greet sessions in engaging in the activities, discussing on various topics and sharing more insights from their experience. Overall, it was a pleasant and scintillating experience.

The writers interviews will be published this week onwards, so stay tuned with us for more updates. Wait! Before you go...

Here is how the short relay story was formed during the game:

Story 1 :

It was a dark and stormy night - but it didn't matter because I was in another city.... And it was sunny there

(Reet - comedy)

It was a night that was unforgettable since there was something lurking within the few trees behind my house

(Qiana - comedy?)

*Qiana - fantasy

I could hear it breathing, rasping, hungry, stalking me.

Lee - horror

"Hey cutie, " I said, hoping back to my tinder date.

Brighton - romance

Reet - Hi there back at you- a growl emanated, not from the trees as I'd imagined, but from the region of my stomach! Dash it... I was starving

Qiana -I ran back into my house to grab the half of sandwich left on my kitchen counter, until I heard a voice

Lee - I lifted my thin cotton t shirt and studied the folds of wilted flesh that had formed into lips across my belly

Brighton - "Man, I'm sexy, " I mused, admiring my unique features

(Sequential )

Reet - horror

Brighton - cowboy

Story 2 :

Prompt :"The evidence collected by your father proved him guilty and anti-social."

Reet - "Really? He's guilty? "How great is daddy'o to have saved me from the gallows, I thought.

Qiana - I twirled finger in my hair, pondering the many ways my father look that plea.

Lee - I couldn't focus in the kangaroo court, it was the judges party hat and balloons tied to his ears keeping me off balance.

Brighton - The town truly wasn't big enough for the both of us, but at least the clown of a judge chose the other to be hung instead of me.

Reet - I was free ---- what a reprieve --- free to continue on my quest sending all the people who'd mocked by lisp off to meet their maker...Free...Bahahahahaha

Qiana - I felt it ring my heart, but keep drifting to the thoughts of my father and his face when the clown said, "Guilty"!

Lee - "Thissss, is getting ridiculoussss," I whispered as the brass band in the gallery struck up their rendition of 'the good, the bad, and the ugly'.

Aaradhana - I thought I cant be irresponsible and I admitted it is I whose child she is carrying. I am guilty father, not he.

Lee - WOW!

-The End-
